Each spring we need many volunteers to help us carry out Torch counts of newts at our 11 reserves. Then in the summer we carry out larval searches, looking for breeding success. Other tasks include habitat maintenance such as pond creations to hibernacula building to woodland management tasks. Volunteering is a great way to meet people & learn new skills which can include using tools to species identification to practical management tasks such as dry stone walling or how to make a bird box. We actively encourage volunteers to take part in our training courses (many are free). First tasks: habitat creation – 26/01/12.
