The following skills are essential: ● A degree in a relevant discipline; ● A sound background in natural history; ● A proven enthusiasm for conservation; ● A commitment to a career in ecological consultancy; ● Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment; ● Exceptional teamwork and communication skills; ● The ability to produce concise, high quality, written reports; ● A full driving licence and own car.

Experience/skills in the following areas would be advantageous: ● Previous experience in ecological consultancy or a closely related field; ● Botanical identification skills of the British flora; ● Knowledge and experience of the application of Phase 1 and 2/NVC habitat survey methodologies; ● Knowledge and experience of undertaking surveys for protected species; ● An understanding of Natural England licensing; ● Knowledge of EIA, planning and wildlife legislation.
