Pond digging in Hackamoe meadow. 10-3pm. Tasks are sometimes very muddy, very wet and possibly cold so dress warmly with waterproof jackets, trousers and footwear. Tea and unlimited biscuits provided, but bring some lunch!

3 day taster event. Learn from local tutors about Coppicing, Chestnut fencing, Horse logging and Woodland Management. The perfect opportunity to see if a career in woodland management and green wood crafts is for you. An additional opportunity to apply for an apprenticeship after the event.

Join local businesses and organised groups to target litter grot-spots. Refreshments and small prizes for all volunteers! Joint event with Make Macclesfield Magnificent, Astra Zeneca and Tytherington High School. All ages are welcome, so please recruit your family and friends! Refreshments, safety instructions and equipment provided. 1.00pm to 3.00pm

Join the Friends of the Carrs and the Rangers for a thorough clean-up of the park. Tools, work gloves and tuition will be provided. 2.00pm to 4.00pm Please wear suitable boots/clothing.

A chance to lend a hand at the Carrs in Wilmslow. Come and help the Friends of the Carrs to remove the fast growing, explosive, invasive weed, Himalayan balsam, from the banks of the River Bollin. All tools provided but please remember your wellies! 2.00pm to 4.00pm

 

Every Friday    Coppicing Volunteering    1 day

Coppicing hazel with hand tools on Wenlock Edge. Every Friday 10am—4pm From 18th November—9th December 2011 Then 13th January—10th February 2012. No experience necessary. Training and tools will be provided. Please contact for more information.
