Assess the impact of different forms of management on hedgerow biodiversity, e.g. closely cut, cut into an A shape or square topped, laid or coppiced. The impact on wildlife value of non-management also needs to be taken into account as does the timing of any management activities.

A section of a coppice coupe is worked through the whole process from start to finish. The culmination of the process is a session on turning the coppice into a range of products. Working methods, material selection, processing, and storage are all covered on the course.

This five-day course covers all aspects of coppice management From assessing and planning areas to cut, felling and grading rods as well as learning the basic techniques involved in making coppice products.
