The Women and Work Programme - Sector Pathways Initiative from Lantra, the Sector Skills Council for environment and land-based industries.

 

To be eligible you must be a woman, based in England, be self employed or work within one of the following sectors:

  • Aquaculture
  • Agricultural
  • Fisheries
  • Landscape
  • Farriery
  • Land-based Engineering
  • Horticulture
  • Environmental Conservation industries
  • Trees & Timber
  • Game & Wildlife
  • Fencing

Please note schools / school teachers are not eligible for the funding under this sector skills council.

Take the opportunity to apply for the £450 grant to assist towards the cost. 

Some examples of completed training include the courses below, but you can do any training that meets your personal development plan?

  • Chainsaw
  • Auto Cad
  • Plant Identification
  • Forest School
  • Book Keeping
  • Bat Surveying
  • Pesticide Training
  • Website Development
  • Bumblebee Identification

 Your training spend can be made up of one or multiple courses.  Training must be completed by the end of January 2011.

 

Part of the criteria is that you have access to a mentor for 15 hours and attend 15 hours of training.  If you are self employed you will need to do 15 hours mentoring and 30 hours training.  

 

Lantra Skills Coach, Angela Kimberley brings you the opportunity to apply for a £450 grant when you spend a minimum of £650 on training between April 2010 and January 2011.   All spend is exclusive of VAT.
